Why join?

Are you looking for sustainable work as a Locum but don't know where to start?

Want to work independently and have flexibility but also be part of a team with like-minded medical professionals?

Intimidated by doing all the admin that comes with working freelance?

Still unsure what a Medical Chambers is?

A Chambers is like an agency in that we find you work, but that is the only similarity. You are not an employee. As a Chambers Member you remain an independent freelance GP, with access to the NHS Pension scheme. You can also set your own rates, select which practices you work with and be in control of your overall work-life balance.

Chambers offers you a full wraparound service

Administrative Support

Log on to our booking software and make yourself available for bookings on the dates and sessions you want. Our Admin Team will do the rest. We have worked hard to build relationships with practices and other providers, so you don't have to. We'll market your availability, book your sessions, and advise on rates. When you join us, you tell us how far you want to travel and your general work preferences. We tend to work to standardised templates, agreed by members that reflect the time you will need to work efficiently and safely. And we troubleshoot any real time issues, invoice practices, and upload your pension forms to PCSE online.

Clinical Governance & CPD

Chambers’ Meetings are the foundation of our success and at the heart of what we offer. These fortnightly meetings are run by our Clinical Leads and you will be able to discuss patient cases, significant events or complaints and share your learning in a safe and supportive environment. We can help you with audits and peer/practice feedback for your appraisal and revalidation. Our educational provision is also supported by the NB Medical team, so you know you will be getting the best available.

Pastoral Support

Working in General Practice can often be like a battlefield. With burnout being a real problem. We offer an alternative for those of us who want to continue doing what we are good at - using our knowledge and skills to help patients. Joining The Medical Chambers isn't just about getting a steady stream of work and someone doing your admin; it's about joining a team of experienced Clinicians who support one another and have fun.

Mentoring and Support for Newly Qualified GPs

If you have recently qualified and haven't yet decided where you want to work or whether you want a regular post, then becoming a locum is a great way to gain experience in a variety of settings. We can buddy you up with a mentor to ensure you have the support you require as you start your career as a GP.

Portfolio Working
